I was up bright and early for church. I found out last night that Richard, our bus
driver, was baptized in November. So he
invited us all to go with him. Me,
tasha, Cait and Richard went to church.
It turned out to be stake conference so when we got there it was just
crowded! Like 500 people. It was
amazing! I was surprised at how disinterested the missionaries were in us. We had a package for an elder and got
pictures with him. He had been
struggling and still clearly was. Nice
kid, but he was so preoccupied with home.
I finally told him that the first 6 weeks sucks but then you will find
yourself not wanting to get off of the plane to go home. Stake Conference was really great. It was really hard to hear and people kept switching
languages in their talks. The fans were
broke and sweat was just dripping down me.
By the time I got to get up it looked like I peed myself. I was so wet.
It was a really cool experience. We
got back to the hotel and the seamstress was here. I told her to get clothes for a 2.5 year old
so hopefully they turn out cool. Richard
cooked up the meat from the market yesterday and it was so good! Who would’ve known? So Richard took Kevin, me
and Jessica to go to the men’s tailor.
He wasn’t at his office so we called him and went to pick him up where
he was. So he came on our bus and took our
measurements. $30 for fabric and the
tailoring. It was really sweet!! So we got back and got food and swam and just
relaxed. We have been preparing for our
teaching and getting ready for tomorrow.
I washed my clothes by hand today.
A total champ! I feel bad. I
totally have garments hanging in the room.
Kevin probably thinks I wear old man clothes. Pretty funny.
Some of the girls drank a little bit too much today. Pretty funny. They were trying to get me to
drink to but I refused. So Kevin was
telling me when he first got here to Ghana we were 30 minutes late so he didn’t
know what to do. He ended up getting
info on us but it took $80 for him to get through to the airport. He had to give money to people every time
them helped him with something. He only
had $20 bills on him and so he was out. Pretty funny. Poor kid.
But it all worked out.
